At GalerÃa-Taller IK-KAN we are dedicated to the research, innovation, creation and sale of Mexican folk art in the form of ALEBRIJES, MASKS AND SKULLS with the traditional technique of CARDBOARDING. With a deep responsibility in sharing knowledge about our culture, history and traditions through them.
In our Gallery-Workshop you will learn how to make one of these pieces, step by step and from start to finish. First familiarizing yourself with the materials and tools in the workshop, with the shapes and applications of cardboard. You will learn to make a wire structure, to model and decorate the piece with painting techniques. All this will be complemented with the transmission of knowledge of the history of Mexican folk art and its close relationship with our native peoples, our culture and our traditions. At IK-KAN you will learn about pre-Hispanic legends and mythology and our current original peoples that give sustenance and depth to the pieces we make.
During your stay, you will be surrounded by a unique atmosphere of creativity, colors, shapes and art, you will be able to meet and live with our team and witness the way in which we create each of our pieces.
HOW RESERVE
To make your stay in our IK-KAN Gallery-Workshop a unique and unforgettable experience, we share all the necessary information so that you can choose the option that best suits your plans, budget and expectations.
1.- CHOOSE THE FORMAT OF YOUR STAY
• OPTION 1 : Create an alebrije from start to finish. (Spanish - English)
Discover and experience the elaboration process from start to finish of one of our pieces (alebrije) in the cardboard and painting areas.
- 5-day stay (20 hours) without lodging $4,640.00
- 5-day stay (20 hours) with lodging included $ 6,380.00
From Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 14:00.
• OPTION 2 : Create your own alebrije and personalize it by decorating it with symbols. (Spanish English)
Discover and create your own alebrije, with our accompaniment you will be able to visualize, project and make a medium format piece, maximizing the possibilities of cardboard modeling and decorate it with pre-Hispanic symbology.
- 10-day stay (40 hours) without lodging $9,200.00
- Stay of 10 days (40 hours) with lodging included $ 13,456.00
From Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

1.-Letter of reasons.
2.-Date to attend (your stay must start on Monday).
3.-Official identification, voting card, DNI or passport (scanned or legible photograph).
4.-Updated medical certificate.
Our stays are aimed at people over 12 years of age. If you are a minor, you must attend the stay accompanied by an adult.
5.-Responsive letter and official identification of your parents or guardian.
3.- METHOD OF PAYMENT
1.- Once we confirm the availability of dates for your stay, we will send you an email with our bank details so that you can make a deposit for the total cost of the stay.

4.- IMPORTANT
1.- We do not include breakfast and lunch.
2.- The start day of the stays is Monday.
3.- The stays do not include transportation and lodging only if you choose that modality.
4.- If the student needs medical care derived from any activity within the workshop facilities, these expenses will be covered by the workshop immediately, but must be reimbursed at the end of their stay.
